Bijacovce   INFO

This village is situated right underneath the Spiš' Castle. It is a very old village. Its territory was already settled in the Bronze Age. The first written mention comes from 1258. From the 15th Century it was under the reign of Spiš' Castle. At the end of the 18th Century Csáky stock moved there.
The Church was built in the middle of the 13th Century and was reconstructed a couple of times. In 1747, the original wooden ceiling was substituted with a vault which damaged precious paintings.
Next to the church stands a rotunda. It was originally Romanesque, and was later rebuilt in Baroque style. There are murals in the interior as well as the exterior.
The Manor House was built from 1780-1785 in late Baroque style. There is a coat-of-arms of Csáky stock in tympanum.
