Osadu založili talianski banskí kolonisti, ktorých pozval ku koncu 13. storočia kaločský arcibiskup Štefan.
Starobylý ranogotický ev.a.v. jednoloďový kostol s románskymi prvkami pochádza z konca 13. stor. Stavba vznikla na mieste staršieho kostola, ktorého základy objavili počas archeologického prieskumu v roku 1983. Mimoriadne rozsiahlu a komplexnú maliarsku výzdobu realizovali dve maliarske dielne v časovom rozpätí šesťdesiatych až osemdesiatych rokov 14. stor. Prvá časť maliarskej výzdoby je prácou dielne Majstra ochtinského presbytéria, druhú, väčšiu časť nástenných malieb orientovaných na taliansku maľbu trecenta, realizoval Majster kraskovských malieb a jeho pomocník.
The
village was founded by Italian mining colonists who were invited by archbishop
Štefan of Kaloč at the end of the 13th Century.
The Ancient Lutheran church with one nave was built in early Gothic style at the end of the 13th Century and has Romanesque elements. It was built on a place where a former church had stood. Its foundations were found during archaeological research in 1983. Remarkably abundant and complex painting decoration was made by two workshops between 1360-1380. The first part of the decoration was made by the workshop of Master of Presbytery from Ochtiná. The second larger part of the murals which are similar to the Italian painting of trecento were made by the author of paintings of Kraskovo and his assistant.
