Obec osídľovaná od druhej polovice 13. storočia, prvý raz spomínaná v roku 1295.
Gotický evanjelický refor. kostol z druhej polovice 14. storočia vznikol na mieste staršieho sakrálneho objektu. Stredoveké nástenné maľby sa zachovali vo fragmentoch. Významnejšou rustikalizáciou sa čiastočne odlišujú od väčšiny gemerskej maliarskej produkcie konca 14. a začiatku 15. storočia. Popri dvoch vrstvách malieb je unikátny motív iluzívneho maľovaného oltára.

There are partly different by more important rustication from Gemer painting production form the end of 14th Century and beginning of the 15 Century. The next to two layers of paintings is a unique motive of imaginary painted altar.
